Citizens, who want to take from the pilaf with meat, made long queues in the program where the Fatih Mayor Hasan Suver served food to citizens. The delegation accompanying Mayor Hasan Suver visited the tomb of Suleyman the Magnificent and said prayers.
“There is keeping the values alive in our imperial understanding.”
Having talked in the commemoration, Fatih Mayor Hasan Suver said: “Only societies creating values and keeping those values alive are nations. There is no exploitation in our imperial understanding, but keeping the values alive. If there are many nations and cultural richness in entire World, Europe, Balkans, Caucasia, Middle East and Africa, it is the result of the powerful justice of the Ottoman Empire. Suleyman the Magnificent is the most spectacular sultan of our civilization. The entire World called him as “Magnificent”. Our purpose here is to remember our history once more, and get strength from it. It is also explaining and reminding those values to the young generation of today, and handing them down to next generations. We memorialize all of our historical personage with mercy and grace that shaped our history, left an indelible mark, and left great values and legacy to us. I salute all of you with affection and with the prayer of being a great country in the 21st century as we were in the past.” In addition to that a mini concert of the janissary band received the appreciation of the citizens.
After Mayor Hasan Suver’s speech, the janissary band of the Fatih Municipality gave a mini concert in the courtyard of the Mosque. Those watching the janissary band curiously recorded the concert with their mobile phones in the commemoration, to which the citizens showed great interest.
